About Way West & Our Vessels

Way West has been providing water taxi service from Campbell River since 1996. Since inception, we're proud to have logged in excess of 41,000 hours of safe and reliable service to our valued customers.

When it comes to customer care, we do everything we can to make your ride with us the best it can be. To move your luggage, a big load of fish, groceries or whatever, we can help! We have a quad and trailer that makes easy work of the sometimes steep ramp to our dock.

For your comfort, our vessel speeds are always adjusted to prevailing conditions and our knowledgeable and experienced staff will be happy to provide answers to the questions that you will surely have. For example.... need something picked up or delivered in town (groceries, mail, breakdown parts…?) Just ask - we'll likely be able to do this for you as well.

With safety as a focus, our vessels are all diesel powered and equipped with the latest in safety and navigation equipment. Each of our five water taxis have been custom designed to suit the varying demands of our customers.

Way West operates 5 vessels: three 12 passenger and two 8 passenger vessels offering a combined ability to handle up to 52 passengers at a time. Check out our fleet!

Nauti Cat The 12 passenger “Nauti Cat” is a 31’ welded aluminum catamaran which offers an unbelievably smooth ride and excellent cargo capacity. It is equipped with twin Volvo D6 310 ’s which provide the boat with a cruise speed of 30 knots. The Nauti Cat is a serious workhorse: we rely on it for heavy duty service with style! Way West 1 The 8 passenger “Way West 1” is a 27’ welded aluminum conventional hull powered by a Volvo D6 370 diesel engine, providing a 30 knot cruise and a great ride! Features: Excellent for smaller groups 2000 lb. payload	Way West 1 comin' at ya!

Island Wild This 8 passenger vessel is a 28.5' welded aluminum conventional hull powerd by a single Volvo D6 350 and cruises at 27 knots with an overall payload of 2000lbs. Features: Single Volvo D6 350 Cruises at 27 knots Payload - 2000lbs	Picture coming soon
	Island Fury Island Fury will be a sister ship to the NautiCat, however the power/drive system will be unique. It will carry 12 passengers and be powered with twin Yanmar 6LY3 STP engines producing 440hp each with Seafury SF 26 surface drives. Cruising speeds and payload are yet to be determined but looking to be the fastest of the fleet. We are quite excited for its arrival!
