Our background:

At Way West Coastal Ventures, on Northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, we have been providing water taxi service from Campbell River since 1996. Since our inception, we are proud to have logged in excess of 41,000 hours of safe transportation and reliable service to our valued customers.

Way West Water Taxi offers transportation services to many diverse industries including tourism, forestry and aquaculture. One of our specialties is our kayak shuttle water taxi service, transporting sea kayakers to and from the remote Discovery Islands and British Columbia's West Coast sea kayaking destinations. Our scheduled water taxi & marine transportation services connect Campbell River and North Central Vancouver Island to areas such as Stuart Island, Dent Island, East and West Thurlow Islands and Sonora Island. These islands are host to many world-renowned fishing lodges that are well known for excellent salmon fishing and first class service. Our guides and staff are on hand to help you with your luggage, groceries, holiday's worth of fish, and more. Way West Coastal Ventures, based Discovery Harbour Marina in Campbell River, also has a quad and trailer available to help load your freight onto our water taxi vessels.

Our knowledgeable and experienced staff will happily to provide answers to any questions you may have regarding our water taxis and grizly bear adventure tours. If you need something picked up or delivered in town (groceries, mail, breakdown parts...?) Just ask - we'll likely be able to do this for you as well.

For your comfort, our water taxi vessel speeds are always adjusted to prevailing conditions. With safety as a focus, our vessels are all diesel powered and equipped with the latest in safety and navigation equipment. At Way West Coastal Ventures, we take pride in our safety record. Each of our five water taxis has been custom designed to suit the varying demands of our customers.

Way West Coastal Ventures operates 5 water taxi and tour vessels: three 12 passenger and two 8 passenger vessels offering a combined ability to handle up to 52 passengers at a time. Check out our fleet!

We operate 3 twin diesel powered water taxi and adventure tour vessels as well as 2 single diesel powered water taxi and adventure tour vessels, all maintained to the highest standards. This keeps our engines purring and our customers happy and right on schedule.
